'Warm Homes' funding success
We are investing £5.85 million in our homes to cut carbon emissions.
The Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3 is the government's new name for what was known as the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3.
This funding supports social housing providers and councils to insulate social housing properties, improve energy efficiency, tackle fuel poverty and upgrade heating systems.
Progress Housing Group is part of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) consortium, which includes 24 councils and housing associations.
The LCRCA consortium has been offered grant funding of £48.09 million from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) Social Housing Fund Wave 3 to support our joint efforts to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. The Group will receive £3.05 million of this funding, which with our co-funding, will bring the final amount to £5.85 million.
Our Group Chief Executive, Jacqui De-Rose, said: "We are pleased to receive this funding which will help us to make our homes more energy efficient for our tenants and contribute towards our net zero targets."
About the funding
The Warm Homes: Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3 supports registered housing providers to upgrade their properties to an Energy Performance Certificate rating of C.
For Progress Housing Group, the funding will go towards energy efficiency measures on properties including hard-to-treat properties that can't be improved by methods such as cavity wall or loft insulation.
Under the scheme, registered housing providers will contribute at least half the costs and receive the other half as match funding from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. The project will run until 31 March 2028.
